Well, 2016 is 66.6% over, and two-thirds of the way into the year, I decided to do a check in with my reading goal on Goodreads to see where I stand.
But let’s not lie, I look at my reading challenge every time I finish a book just to revel in the sweet, sweet percentage increase.
This year I challenged myself to read 68 books, one more than last year. As of today, I have read 53 (78%.) It’s a very real possibility that I might exceed my goal
First book of the Year: Micro by Michael Crichton, Richard Preston
Latest Book: The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer
Favorite Book (fiction):Bird Box by Josh Malerman
Favorite Book (non-fiction): Killer Show by John Barylick
Least Favorite Book (fiction): Ring by Koji Suzuki
Least Favorite Book (non-fiction): The Ascent of Man by J. Bronowski
Longest Book: Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons (884 pages)
Shortest Book: Fire and Rain by Jerome Greer Chandler
At the end of year, I’ll have a full recap and reflection. How will my list change? How many books will I end up with? And most importantly, can anything be worst than The Ascent of Man?
